In this chapter, the elder Pip is narrating about experiences of the past. This chapter is very interesting because we had a little bit of drama and action and the story has taken a different, more relaxed, approache in this chapter. He remembers working as Joe’s apprentice and how he could see Estella’s face in the fire. This chapter has put a different perspective of the rest of the story and if this happens constantly then the story should flow more and more. He also remembers singing Old Clem and that would remind him of the time that he spent at Miss Havisham’s house.
